If you want iPhone apps that genuinely do not track you, look for ones with no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs, and no account, ideally confirmed by an empty "Data Collected" section on the App Store privacy label. What "no tracking" actually means
"Tracking" has a specific meaning on iOS: linking data about you or your device to data from other companies for advertising or measurement. In practice, an app that does not track you has none of the usual machinery:
- No analytics or telemetry sent to a server
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no ad networks
- No third-party SDKs that phone home (analytics, crash, attribution)
- No account, so your use is not tied to an identity
- Best of all, in many cases no network code, so there is nothing to send
How to verify it yourself
You do not have to take anyone's word for it. On the App Store, scroll to App Privacy. "Data Not Collected" is the strongest label a developer can carry. Then check whether the app makes you sign in: an app with no account and no sign-in cannot quietly build a profile across sessions.
