Carol is a knitting app for iPhone, in German, Danish, and English. It takes an existing knitting pattern and resizes it to your own gauge, your yarn, and the measurements you want, then guides you round by round as you knit, on your iPhone, your Apple Watch, the lock screen and widgets. Stitches and rows are handled separately, because a swatch is never square. Everything runs on your device, offline, with no account and no tracking, with optional private iCloud sync.

Carol combines pattern resizing, top-down garment planning, and a calm knitting companion that follows you onto your wrist and lock screen. The maths is deterministic and always shows its rounding, so you can trust the numbers on your needles.
Resize to your gauge
Enter your swatch, your target measurements, and Carol converts the pattern through the real, physical size. Stitch counts and row counts are worked out separately and rounded to the pattern repeat, with the rounding and any deviation shown openly.
Raglan and round yoke
Two top-down classics. The raglan planner has separate increase rounds for body and sleeves and an optional V-neck that grows from the neckline. The round yoke spreads its increases evenly around the round. Both give a round-by-round plan and warn when a yoke would come out too shallow.
Body and sleeves after the split
Once you divide for the body, Carol plans the straight rounds, optional waist shaping, the sleeve decreases down to the wrist, and the ribbing, so the whole garment is worked out before you cast on.
Socks, hats, and more
A sock planner from the top down with a heel flap, gusset, and band toe, a hat planner with a wedge crown, short-row shaping for a raised back, a yarn estimate from the run length, and a unit converter.
Guided pattern adjuster
A six-step assistant that takes a section of a pattern you have and recalculates it to your gauge, with candidates, row rounding, and honest warnings when a ratio drifts. Adjustments are saved with where they came from.
A knitting companion
A focused knitting mode with a large round counter, an undo history, reminders at specific rounds, a keep-awake switch, a left-hand mode, and gentle haptics. It quietly measures your knitting time per project, so your hands stay on the yarn and your place is never lost.
On your wrist and lock screen
A small Apple Watch companion counts rounds on your wrist, and a Live Activity puts a Next round button on the lock screen and Dynamic Island. Home and lock screen widgets show your latest project, and Siri, Shortcuts, and the Action Button move the counter without opening the app.
Your yarn, needles, and patterns
A stash for your yarn and needles that links to projects and checks whether the wool is enough. Keep a bought pattern as a PDF that Carol reads next to the counter. Turn on optional private iCloud sync to keep everything in step across your own devices.

Which languages does Carol support?
Carol is available in German, Danish, and English. You choose the language, and the interface, the patterns, and all guidance follow.
Does Carol need an account or the internet?
No. Carol works fully offline and needs no account, and it does no tracking. Your projects, gauges, and photos stay on your device. You can optionally turn on private iCloud sync to mirror your data across your own devices through your own iCloud account, which Carol cannot see.
