EditMe – Photo editor for iPhone and iPad

EditMe processes your photos exclusively on your device. The app sends no data to any server, uses no trackers, shows no ads, and has no accounts. EditMe offers one optional in-app subscription (EditMe Pro), which is processed entirely by Apple; the app itself receives no payment data. There are no third-party SDKs, no analytics, no crash reporters beyond Apple’s built-in optional channel. If you don’t want to read further, that’s the gist.

A data protection officer is not required by law. The conditions of Art. 37 GDPR / § 38 BDSG are not met because no large-scale processing of personal data takes place.
EditMe was developed following the principle of maximum data minimization.
The app functions entirely without an internet connection. It does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to the developer or any external server. All data the user provides remains exclusively on the user’s device.
EditMe processes only image data that you yourself provide to the app, in one of two ways.
You select photos from your photo library using the iOS system picker (PhotosPicker). The selected image data is decoded into memory, processed locally, and saved as a new image in your photo library. The originals are never modified.
When you edit a photo in the iOS Photos app and invoke EditMe as an editing extension, iOS hands the image to the extension. Processing happens fully on the device. The result is returned to Photos through the system API.
In neither case do your images leave the device through the app.
A small number of settings is stored locally via @AppStorage (equivalent to UserDefaults), such as whether you have already seen the onboarding. These values do not leave your device.
The app and its Photo Editing Extension share a sandboxed App Group container (group.dk.nordicappstudio.EditMe) so they can read the same local settings. This container is stored on your device only. iCloud synchronization for this container is not enabled.
When you use the Photo Editing Extension, iOS stores the edit instructions as PHAdjustmentData alongside the image in your Photos library. This is a standard iOS mechanism, not an app-specific server. The data stays in your Photos library and is handled according to your Photos configuration (e.g. iCloud Photos, if you have enabled it).
When you import images via the system picker, the app may briefly write files into the system temp directory. iOS cleans this directory up automatically.
The following list is intentionally explicit, because it is the core of this app.
EditMe does not present its own permission dialogs by default. Access to your photos runs through the iOS system pickers, which do not grant the app persistent access to the library — only to the specific images you select.
EditMe uses no external SDKs or tracking libraries. The entire source code of the app was written by the developer. There are no hidden data transfers to third parties.
You obtain EditMe via the Apple App Store. When purchasing, installing, and running the app, Apple processes data under its own responsibility (Apple ID, payment data, device identifiers, optionally diagnostic data if you have enabled this in iOS settings). This processing is Apple’s responsibility, not the developer’s.

If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may forward anonymized crash reports to us. We do not actively enable this channel and do not systematically evaluate the reports. You can revoke this sharing at any time in iOS settings.
Insofar as personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 GDPR arises at all — for example because your own photos depict people you have photographed — processing takes place exclusively on your device and through your own use of the app. No transmission to the developer or to third parties occurs.
Where applicable, the legal bases are:
Local data (app settings, exported images) remains stored as long as you do not delete it, uninstall the app, or reset your device. The developer has no access to this data and cannot view or delete it. Uninstalling the app removes the App Group container automatically.
There are none. EditMe does not transmit data to processors, third parties, or third countries. The only data flow that occurs at all runs between Apple and you (purchase, installation, optionally diagnostics, optionally iCloud Photos based on your configuration).
Because the developer does not collect, store, or otherwise process personal data, most GDPR rights of access, rectification, and erasure practically do not apply. You nevertheless have the following rights:

Image processing takes place in the working memory of your device. The app uses iOS standard security mechanisms (app sandbox, App Group container, security-scoped bookmarks for file access). The App Group container is protected against access by other apps. No additional security model is necessary, because no data leaves the device.
The app is aimed at a general audience and collects no data whatsoever, neither from adults nor from children. There are no accounts, no profiles, and no communication features through which children could disclose personal data.
If the app’s features change in a way that this policy no longer fits, we will update the text and the date above. Substantial changes — for example the introduction of a cloud feature or a third-party SDK — will be clearly indicated in the app’s changelog and in the App Store release notes.

The policy above describes the app and its on-device data handling. This policy is itself published as a page on nordicappstudio.dk, which is hosted by Simply.com A/S on servers within the EU. As with any website, viewing this page generates standard server access logs (for example your IP address, browser type, and time of access) for the secure operation of the site, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
